INTRODUCTION TO THROWING WEEKEND LONG COURSE
Saturday & Sunday | August 9th & 10th
Make a bowl, mug and plate to take home.
11am-3pm each day.
£220 per person
You must be available to attend on both consecutive days to book in.
Join resident potter Caitlin Bowbeer for a weekend-long course introducing you to the basics of throwing pottery on the wheel. Caitlin will take you through various techniques to teach you how to centre the clay, make, shape and trim your pots, attaching handles to pieces.
The final three chosen items will be fired and glazed using a choice of coloured or plain glazes provided. Alternatively, you can come back for a second session to paint your thrown pots.
Includes all materials and firings for your final 3 pieces.
Additional pieces can be glazed and fired for an additional fee dependant on size.
Each attendee will use their own dedicated wheel with lots of practice time.
There are 3 spaces per weekend course available.
No previous experience needed.
All items will be ready to collect 8 weeks later.

For those who fell in love with the ' The Great Pottery Throw Down', now is your chance to have a go!
Don't worry if you've never worked with clay before, this is a
beginner's class, lead by our in-house potter, Caitlin.
The class will last roughly 1.5-2 hours and there will be a maximum of 6 people per booking, plus the throwing instructor. You will make 2 small pots each, and then choose your favourite one which will be glazed and fired in the kiln.
Pricing
£45 per individual
£70 for 2 people
PLEASE NOTE: FULL PAYMENT REQUIRED UPON BOOKING OVER THE PHONE
Includes all materials and firing for 1 small pot each plus clear glazing. If you would like to keep more than one, there will be an additional £5 charge for each extra pot.
Throwing class eligibility
-Participants aged 16+ are welcome, those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
-for ages 12-16 please contact to ask for details about a family session.
-Unfortunately we cannot allow under 12's on the pottery wheels.
Access: Please note that the throwing room located is down a set of stairs. If someone in your group has mobility issues, please let us know at the point of booking so we can accommodate.
- We have
3 wheels at present, therefore a maximum of 6 people per workshop.
- After the workshop you will leave creations with us for roughly
2
months to dry and have the first (bisque) firing in the kiln, then ready to be clear glazed or decorated.
If you would like to come back to paint your pots, just pay £10 for a second painting session, available 7 days a week..

Honey master class and pinch a dish and spoon

6.30pm till 8.30pm
£45 per person
Get stuck in with these "no experience needed" hand building workshops. Our tutor Holly will give a demo of what you will be making and be there throughout the 2 hour session as a helping hand.
Class Info
-You will have 2 hours to get creative with clay, 1 hour making your clay piece and then the next painting/decorating.
-After the workshop you will leave the creations with us for roughly 1 month to dry, fire and glaze fire.
